First, consider the environment, then choose the material. This is the first principle in selecting cable trays. For cable networks that require shielding against electrical interference or protection against corrosive liquids and flammable dust, trough-type composite anti-corrosion shielded trays (with covers) should be selected. In highly corrosive environments, composite epoxy resin anti-corrosion and flame-retardant trays must be used, and the support arms and brackets should also be made of the same material, otherwise the trays may remain intact but the brackets may fail first. For large-span (greater than 3 meters) applications, composite trays are recommended. For outdoor settings, composite epoxy resin material is also recommended. If budget allows and longevity is a priority, zinc-aluminum-magnesium materials have gained popularity in recent years, offering superior corrosion resistance and fire resistance compared to traditional galvanizing. However, it is important to verify the authenticity of testing reports from qualified manufacturers and avoid being misled by hype.

In the installation process, several specific numbers must be strictly adhered to. The spacing between indoor supports and hangers is generally controlled between 1.5 and 3 meters, while the span between outdoor columns is usually 6 meters. For straight sections of metal trays, an expansion joint of 20 to 30 millimeters must be reserved every 50 meters. This is a detail that many construction teams often overlook. When it expands in summer, the tray can become deformed, causing issues. The height and lateral deviations of horizontally installed supports should not exceed 10 millimeters. Being horizontal and vertical is not just for aesthetics; it is a prerequisite for preventing damage during cable laying. There is another hard rule: expansion bolts are prohibited for securing to lightweight walls. Don't ask why; just ask if you've seen one fall off.

It is advisable to use tinned copper tape for bridging at each joint, and to add a grounding connection point every 20 to 30 meters. Both the starting and ending points should be grounded. In areas with vibrations, spring rings should be added to the grounding connections to prevent loosening.
